"You are my sunshine" Layout

Papers used: "Sail Away", "Splish Splash", "Kids at Play", "Turtle Time", "Floating Floral", "Sunkissed". Plain cardstock: Melon.

Embellishments from the kit. Small journal card from the print out.

My main page is "Sail Away" and I used the whole sheet here. Cut the bottom part off at the 7th stripe as depicted below:

Tape the two together with double-sided tape:

Cut a 1.25" strip from the Melon cardstock. Cut the turtle border from "Kids at Play". Adhere it on top of the melon cardstock strip.

Prepare your photo. I added a dark border in my imaging software, but you can just mat on cardstock if you wish. My picture was then 5.25" x 5.25". Mat on Melon cardstock measuring 5.5" x 5.5"

Mat on a piece of Floating Floral, measuring 6.75" x 6.7". Ink edges with blue ink (optional):

Attach the large fishing net die cut leaving the bottom unstuck in places as we need to include a border later:

Mount the picture on foam pads. We want to leave one end free for the jounalling card so put the foam tape on as below, in effect creating a pocket:

Attach to the layout leaving enough room for the jounalling card on the side. Print it out and try it to make sure before fitting it to the page. Attach to page:

Now for the fun part: embellishing the page. Cut a variety of images out from Turtle Time, Splash Splahs, Floating Floral and Signature Page.  

Use the fussy cut images and embellish with Kaisercraft Wooden floruishes, blue wooden fish, Wooden starfish, pearls and flowers.

Start by embellishing the bottom with a pier cut from "Sunkissed" a little boy from "Splish Splash" and two of the big turtles from "Turtle Time". Add the "You are my Sunshine" border from "Kids at Play" and the two little girls by the picture cut from "Splish Splash". Leave the border unstuck until you know what you are placing below it (see pictures below):

Add the rest of the embellishments. Mount some of foam tape to elevate it from the page and leave some areas unstuck:

Print and cut out one of the small journalling pages and add pearls at the top. Ink edges (optional). I am using the larger of the two small journaling pages here:
