Wedding Card

by Karen Mortensen

I used:

Many manufacturers these days include a few sheets of picture panels in their 12x12 collections, perfect for card makers - great for scrappers too of course, but they really come into their own when used on cards.  I used a fabulous image from the "Congratulations" paper in the G45 "Time to Celebrate" collection. This panel measures 15.5cm x 10cm, so lends itself perfectly to a beautiful large card.

Cut a piece of cardstock measuring 19cm x 28cm, and fold it into a card measuring 19cm x 14cm (7.6" x 5.5"). I used a pearlescent piece of card.

Attach strips of lace on all edges - I stuck on two strips top and bottom with double-sided tape, then added the two longer pieces and wrapped them over the edge of the card.. My lace here measures 15mm in width. I used lace from the Santoro Mirabelle pack.

Cut out the large "Happy Wedding" bride piece from the "Congratulations" sheet. Mount on coordinating cardstock slightly larger than the cut-out.

Add an ensemble of roses in one of the corners. I used a large Prima flowers, plus smaller paper roses. Add pearls to the corner, and along the sides on top of the lace. Top with a white paper bow. I also added a stick pin.

I left the inside quite plain, ready for my sentiment and writing: Just two layered panels cut with  Spellbinders dies, and topped with a white paper bow - classy and elegant:

Wedding Card 2

by Karen Mortensen

I used:

This really is a very economical card.

Cut a piece of cardstock measuring 13.5cm x 11cm, and fold it into a card measuring 13.5cm x 5.5cm. My cardstock is pearlescent.

Cut another piece of the pearlescent cardstock, in size 10.5cm x 9cm. Layer this piece onto black cardstock, leaving a margin all around it. Mount this onto foam tape, and place onto card. Mounted on foam the centrepiece is elevated from the main card.

Cut out the piece with the bride and groom from the "You're Invited" paper:

then cut out the bride and groom, and the "Congratulations" with the roses and leaves.

Add the bride and groom to one corner of the mounted, layered cardstock (see pictures for guidance).

Add the "Congratulations" floral piece to another corner. Add a little foam tape at the top where it meets the main card.

Add a white paper bow, and three white pearls at the bottom.

Again I added very little to the inside:

"Let's Party" Card

by Karen Mortensen

I used:

Cut a piece of "Grapefruit" cardstock, into size 17cm x 26cm. Fold it into a card size 17cm x 13cm.

Wrap a piece of velvet ribbon around the top and bottom of the card.

Cut the following panel out of the Time To Celebrate Paper "You're Invited" paper

Stick it to the centre of the card

Cut the following panel out of the Time To Celebrate Paper "Congratulations" paper.

cut the bottom part out of the panel, you can save the top half for another card. This is essentially what we want, but cut around the green box and the banner:

Stick it to the bottom of the card, see pictures for guidance.

Add a "Let's Party round piece of chipboard. I inked the edges in brown ink first.

Cut a couple of roses out from the "Party Perfect" paper, and stick them next to the chipboard piece.

Add a couple of paper roses and K&Co Handmade Layered Accents.

Decorate the inside with the reverse side of "Party Perfect" (I inked edges with brown ink). It would look lovely if you cut more roses out to decorate around the middle here. I ran out of time, but will do this before using it:

"Birthday Cakes" Card

by Karen Mortensen

I used:

Cut a piece of brown cardstock to make a card measuring 16cm x 15cm.

Add faux stitching around edges, using a white pen, both on the front, and inside. I used a Sharpie Marker.

Cut a piece of "Make a Wish" paper in size 15cm x 14cm. Ink edges with brown ink, then layer onto white cardstock. Make another exactly the same for the inside of the card. TIP: Cut out the paper to get the wording where you want it. Look at the pictures for guidance.

Stick one of these onto the front of the card, and the other inside the card.

Cut out the following image from the "You're Invited" paper:

Cut around the banner at the top:

Cut around the flowers to make enough space for a piece of ribbon to be inserted under them. Attach the ribbon across the middle of the image, leaving the end of the ribbon unstuck so you can wrap it around the edge when mounted:

Mount onto white card, ensuring you do not glue down the cut areas. Wrap the ribbon round the edge

Cut a 30" x 1cm (12" x 1/4") strip of the "Make a Wish" paper

 then fold it concertina style:

Attach it onto the front of the image panel below the ribbon, wrapping it around the edges:

Attach a "Let's Party" Chipboard piece from the "Time to Celebrate" chipboard pack to the top, below the cut banner; attach a Basic Grey Glazed Brad to the chipboard tag.

Putting the piece at an angle, glue onto front of card, and push the legs of the brad through to the main card.

Add pearls and a large Prima flower.

Finish the inside:

"Joy" Card

by Karen Mortensen

A  quick and easy card.

I used:

Cut a piece of cardstock into a card size 13.5cm x 15cm (wide).

Cut a piece measuring 14.5cm (width) x 13cm from the main "Raining Cats & Dog" paper. We are using the reverse here. Ink edges. Cut another identical piece for the inside.

Stick the paper to the front of the card.

Cut a piece of the remainder, ink edges, then fold them over the top edges.

add a strip of lace to the bottom (see pictures)

Add a small doily to the front of the card, slightly off centre. I couldn't see the exact colour I wanted, so coloured over the green with an Aqua colour to match the picture. You only need to colour what you can see.

Cut the image we are using out of the "Well Bred" paper. If you look for it in the shop, you wont see the image as it is under the folded corner. Just trust me that it's "Well Bred" :)

Mount it onto the same cardstock as you main card. Ink edges with brown ink

Using foam tape/pads to elevate the piece, mount the centrepiece to the middle, on top of the doily.

Add a rose and a sentiment. I used a K&Co piece I had (sorry, sold out in the shop). A lovely glazed brad would be nice here too.

Add the piece you cut earlier to the inside. I added a cut-out, using a spellbinders die, to take my sentiment. You could embellish further by adding a doily below this and a piece of lace at the bottom to emulate the front:

"Happy Birthday Balloons" Card

by Karen Mortensen

I used:

Cut a piece of plain cardstock for a card to measure 6" x 6"

Cover the front with a glittered piece of paper from the Mirabelle 6x6 pad. Ink edges. Cover the inside with another sheet of the Mirabelle Glittered Rose paper.

Cut a piece of the "Make a Wish" paper slightly wider than the card. Ink edges with brown ink. Stick onto front of card.

Cut an image out of the "You're Invited" paper. Stick onto front (see pictures)

Add two strips of lace next to the image on the right-hand-side (see pictures)

Add a Prima Crystal swirl, and a few pearl on the swirl itself  (see pictures)

Ink the edges of two "Let's Celebrate" Chipboard Tags and attach them with plain Basic Grey brads:

Add a Fancy pants Chipboard Crown, and the remaining pearls (see pictures)

Add Glossy Accents to the balloons and leave to dry.
