Christmas Cards Ideas - Circles

We are used to seeing square and oblong matting for our cards, so I decided to use circles for a change. I created eight cards all using circles in various sizes on the front. I used two sheets of Kaisercraft Speciality Paper "Circles" and cut each sheet into four pieces. I then arranged them on my cards so the circles fitted nicely. Alternatively you can cut a variety of circles in different sizes.

Most of the cards are size 6" x 6". The card is a 12" x 6" white piece of card or heavyweight paper, folded into a card size 6" x 6". I then cut two pieces of patterned paper slightly smaller so a white edge would show around the size and glue one to the front and one inside the card. I like decorating the inside to match the front and it always makes the card a luxurious weight. The background paper here is Kaisercraft Silent Night paper "Mistletoe"and the heart border is a sticker from the Silent Night 12x12 sticker sheet. I decorated the heart border with red Stickles and Gold Pearls. After deciding where I wanted the circles to go I glued patterned papers and die-cuts to the back, then glued them on and trimmed the edges. I decided to leave one complete. The centrepiece and the piece with "25th" on it are both Craftwork Cards Christmas Die-Cuts. I used Glossy Accents on the white berries and the little robin's eye. "Tis The Season" die-cut is from the Kaisercraft Silent Night Collectables pack, which I decorated with red Stickles. A little gold bow and some glittery snowflakes completed the front. s

This a smaller card, measuring approximately 6" x 4.5". Again the same method was employed. I matted the robin die-cut on brown cardstock prior to gluing it on because it was too small for the circle. "Joy to the World" was on the edge of one of the papers I used, so make sure you check out the papers before you cut and throw and away. I mounted on red cardstock, then inked edges and adhered with foam tape to elevate it a bit.

I folded a 12" x 6" piece of red cardstock into a card measuring 6" x 6" then covered with Bo Bunny Merry & Bright paper "Festive" On this card I decided to use a heavyweight red glitter card for inside the circles and I used the beautiful Kaisercraft Ruby Glitter Cardstock. The border is from the Kaisercraft Silent Night Sticker sheet. I wanted a gold border around the circle and heart so used Gold Stickles first then sprinkled with a fine gold glitter. Glossy Accents were used on the white berries and the poinsettia as well as the red berries in the top border.. The button had "thread" made from Gold Stickles. Noel and heart are both from the Kaisercraft Silent Night Collectables pack.

Another 6" x 6" card. Patterned paper is Kaisercraft Silent Night "Trim the Tree" Here I inked the edges of the robin die-cut the used it as it was inside the largest circle. Mistletoe die-cut is from the Silent Night Collectables pack. I used Glossy Accents on the berries then sprinkled with Crystal Glamour Dust and top the sprig with a gold bow.. Red Stickles was used the accentuate the heart border, which is from the Silent Night Sticker sheet. Glossy Accents were used on the berries by the Robin die-cut. The paper in the circles is from an old paper collection, these are a great way to use up your scraps.

Again i wanted to use that beautiful glitter cardstock. I love it because it never loses any of the glitter and it has real depth. My card is again a 12" x 6" piece of red cardstock folded into a card measuring 6" x 6" then covered with Bo Bunny Merry & Bright paper "Festive"
The main centrepiece is another Craftwork Cards Christmas Die-Cut and I used glossy accents on the gold baubles and star on the tree. Santa checking his list is a Silent night collectables pack, as is the "Christmas" die-cut. Both borders are from the Kaisercraft Silent night sticker sheet.

"Noel" and the Christmas Wreath with Robin are both Craftwork Cards Christmas Die-cuts. The paper behind the other circles is from Bo Bunny's "Silver & Gold" collection. Thread on buttons is Gold Stickles. I added Glossy Accents on the Bow and Robin.
Tree border inside the card is likewise form the Silent Night sticker sheet.
