Découpage provides is a great way of creating a 3 Dimensional effect by layering the images onto your project. Individually the papers are also great for providing backgrounds for greeting cards etc, and ideal in a frame or aperture cards. To create a 3 Dimensional effect: Cut out the images into identical shapes, and mould them into the desired shape (if required). You can do this by placing your cut-out face down on a soft surface, and moulding it with a rounded implement . .. Glue the first layer onto your card with acid free glue. Note that as a rule four images are required to produce one full 3D découpage design Now attach additional layers onto the first, separating them with blobs of silicon glue, or small pieces of double-sided sticky foam.. The final piece can be tweaked to add a sense of fullness to the image, for example if you are using a flower image you can "lift" the leaves and petals to give a realistic look. TIP! You can glaze your work to make it more dramatic, or perhaps to create an "aging" effect.
